Train operations on the Sealdah South section experienced severe disruptions during Tuesday's rush hour. This halt was caused by a man's fatal fall from the Ballygunge rail overbridge around 7:30 pm.
The individual reportedly intended to jump in front of a moving train. However, he landed on the roof of an oncoming train instead. While on the roof, he became entangled with high-tension overhead wires, leading to his death by electrocution.
Railway personnel worked to recover the body, which was seen on fire on the train's roof. Attempts to revive the man were unsuccessful, and train services were halted for a period, affecting many commuters.
