4 Aug
Summary
- Ten individuals, all US citizens, were safely evacuated from a seaplane.
- The aircraft crashed near North Bimini in the Bahamas on Saturday.
- Heavy boat traffic reportedly caused the seaplane to veer off course.

A seaplane carrying ten U.S. citizens experienced a mishap near North Bimini in the Bahamas shortly after 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 1. The aircraft, a 2014 Cessna 208B Grand Caravan operated by Tropic Ocean Airways, was found partially overturned next to a dock.
Preliminary reports from the Royal Bahamas Police Force suggest that heavy boat traffic near the departure path forced the pilot to seek an alternate route. While taxiing on the water, the seaplane reportedly veered left, failed to correct its course, and collided with a dock before sinking in about 100 feet of water.
Fortunately, all eight passengers and two crew members were safely evacuated by individuals on nearby boats. No injuries were reported following the incident. Tropic Ocean Airways confirmed the mishap and stated they are fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation by the relevant authorities.
