Choking Hazard: Baby Toys Recalled

In the United States, a significant recall has been issued for approximately 6,800 Yetonamr Pull String Teething Toys sold via Amazon. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that the toy violates mandatory safety standards because its silicone strings are too short. These small strings can reach a baby's throat, creating a severe choking hazard and a risk of respiratory distress or death. The commission became aware of this danger after receiving reports of 32 choking incidents linked to the product. Consumers who purchased these toys, identifiable by Model number 688-59 and sold between June 2025 and October 2025, are instructed to cease use immediately. They should contact the seller, Longyanguiheng, for a full refund and follow specific steps to destroy the toy before emailing proof of destruction.

This recall highlights a growing concern over children's product safety in the U.S. In December, over 10,000 KTEBO writing tablets were recalled due to accessible batteries posing an ingestion risk. Similarly, Cubimana treehouse building toy sets were recalled from Shein for the same battery ingestion hazard. Magnets in CreateOn Crayola-branded Pip-Cubes were also recalled because loose magnets, if swallowed, can cause severe internal injuries including perforations and blockages, potentially leading to death. The Consumer Product Safety Commission continues to warn parents about these dangers.
