A recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on January 29, 2026, for approximately 49,410 AiTuiTui Pull String Teething Toys. These toys, manufactured in China and sold on Amazon by Vanfun, pose a significant risk of serious injury or death from choking.
The affected teething toys were sold on Amazon.com for about $10 between August 2022 and September 2025. They are identifiable by a central disc with six multicolored silicone pull-string tentacles and the model number "688-59" marked on the packaging.
According to the CPSC, the silicone strings are shorter than legally mandated for toys. This design flaw presents a serious choking hazard, as the strings could become lodged in a child's throat, leading to respiratory distress or even death. As of the recall announcement, 15 choking incidents and two reports of children biting off pieces of the strings have been documented, though no fatalities have occurred.
Consumers possessing the recalled toy are instructed to cease its use immediately. To obtain a full refund, they must cut off the silicone strings, discard them, write "Destroyed" on the central disc, and email a photograph of the damaged product to recallmls@outlook.com. The CPSC will provide updates regarding the recall remedy.
