Weathermen Face Death Threats Over Fake Feud
21 Feb
Summary
- Forecasters received death threats and violent messages.
- Personal details were leaked, leading to harassment.
- The abuse stems from baseless rumors of a feud.

Two prominent Australian weather forecasters have been subjected to severe online abuse, including death threats and doxxing. Jeffrey Higgins, founder of Higgins Storm Chasing, revealed he and his family received menacing messages, with some including explicit threats of violence. He expressed fear and distress over the situation.
Similarly, David Taylor of Brisbane Weather reported experiencing horrific bullying and trolling. His business phone number and email were exploited, leading to malicious advertisements and inappropriate messages. Personal details shared for weather experiences were posted on Craigslist, resulting in suggestive and harassing communications. Taylor also received an email confirming his registration for explicit content sites without consent.
Both forecasters have reported the threats and harassment to the police on multiple occasions. The targeted abuse appears to have originated from baseless speculation circulating earlier in the year about a feud between the two weather personalities. However, Taylor has strongly denied any animosity, stating he stands with Higgins against such "crap" and that the media and certain individuals are fabricating a rivalry.
