16 Feb
Summary
- Blue plastic toy train poses choking risk due to loose parts.
- Product sold between August 2024 and February 2026.
- Full refunds offered without receipt for affected toy.

Asda has issued a critical product recall for the Hapello Power Train, a children's toy identified as a choking hazard. The blue plastic train, featuring orange detailing, was available for purchase from August 2024 through February 2026. Concerns were raised as a small component, specifically the orange steam dome, can become loose. This detachment presents a significant risk of choking for young children.
Customers who have bought this specific toy are strongly urged to return it to their nearest Asda store immediately. Asda has assured that a full refund will be provided for the returned item, and a receipt is not required. This action follows similar recalls of children's items due to safety concerns. Previously, a Soft Bulalaet Gun and certain Peppa Pig and Hey Duggee books were also recalled for posing choking risks. Penguin, the publisher for the recalled books, confirmed that small pieces could detach from the covers, prompting a recall for books printed between 2020 and 2021. The Office for Product Safety and Standards has advised keeping these products away from young children and returning them for a refund.
