Army Officer Lost in Poonch Gorge Tragedy

A somber incident has been reported from Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, where a junior commissioned officer of the Army tragically lost his life. The officer was leading a crucial search party in the Seri Mastan area of Behramgalla on Friday evening when the unfortunate event took place.

While navigating a steep slope, the officer reportedly lost his balance and fell into a deep gorge. Army troops present at the scene immediately launched a rescue operation to locate and assist him. Tragically, the search party leader was found deceased upon discovery.

Following the recovery of the body, all necessary legal and medical formalities were completed. The mortal remains have since been dispatched to his hometown to allow for the final rites to be performed. The incident has cast a shadow over the region, highlighting the inherent risks faced by military personnel.
