Two promising youths, Raju Kumar, aged 21, and Amil Kumar, aged 20, who were training to join the Army as Agniveers, tragically died in Garhwa. Their lives were cut short when a lorry carrying stone chips overturned on them early Sunday morning as they were running near Manpur village. The devastating accident occurred around 5:30 AM, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The incident took place on the Ranka-Ramkanda road, a route the aspiring soldiers frequently used for their physical training. Responding authorities, including the local police and administrative officials, rushed to the scene. With the help of an earthmover, they managed to retrieve the bodies from beneath the overturned vehicle before they were sent for post-mortem examination at Garhwa sadar hospital.
The community is now rallying together, expressing profound grief and demanding support for the bereaved families. They have appealed to the government for financial compensation and secure employment for a family member of each deceased aspirant. The NH-343 was temporarily obstructed by protestors for three hours, highlighting the community's distress and demand for justice.
