Arson Suspected in Massive Andover Building Fire

A significant fire that raged through a former office building in Andover has concluded after firefighters battled the blaze overnight. The incident occurred in Greenwich Way and saw the roof of the derelict structure heavily engulfed in flames.
At the height of the fire, seven fire engines and more than 40 crew members from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service were on site. They worked relentlessly into the early hours of the morning to fully extinguish the fire, which was concentrated in the roof space at the rear of the building.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has launched an investigation and is treating the incident as suspected arson. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with the fire. Local residents were advised to remain indoors with their doors and windows closed due to the thick smoke produced by the fire.
