Ambulance Chaos Leaves Couple Dead, Two Injured in Bengaluru

On the night of November 2, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Bengaluru when an ambulance without any patient caused a fatal accident. The ambulance, which had its siren and beacon lights on, was heading towards Lalbagh when it jumped a red light at the Kengal Hanumanthaiah Junction and collided with two scooters.

The accident resulted in the death of a couple, Ismail Nathar Dabapu (40) and Sameen Banu (33), from Bhatkal in Uttara Kannada district. The couple, who lived in Sudhamanagar, is survived by their three children studying in classes 2, 5, and 7. Two other individuals, Mohammed Riyan (29) and Mohammed Siddiq (32), were also injured in the crash and are currently receiving treatment.

According to eyewitness Mujahid Pasha, all four people on the scooters were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. The crowd at the scene accused the ambulance driver, Ashok, of misusing the facilities provided to emergency vehicles. Ashok, who is from KR Pete in Mandya district, had initially fled the scene but later surrendered to the Siddapura police.

The police have stated that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol, but his reckless driving and disregard for traffic signals led to the tragic incident. The ambulance, which belonged to Cloud9 Hospital, is now in the custody of the authorities as they continue their investigation.
