Air India Jet Plunges 300 Feet, Injuring Dozens

European planemaker Airbus is sending specialists to assist in the investigation of a recent incident where an Air India A320 aircraft experienced a sudden loss of approximately 300 feet of altitude.
The event occurred on August 4th on flight AI2379 from Phuket to Delhi. The aircraft stabilized after the altitude drop and landed safely in Delhi.
Eight passengers and four crew members sustained injuries as a result of the sudden maneuver. Indian authorities launched a probe on the same day, securing the Flight Data Recorder and Cockpit Voice Recorder.
Further adding to the investigation, India's civil aviation ministry reported on Sunday that the flight's captain returned an initial screening result positive for psychoactive substances, prompting additional laboratory testing.
