Western Washington communities, already dealing with severe flooding, are now reporting blown transformers, downed trees, and damaged roofs. Governor Bob Ferguson highlighted the profound damage and warned of further high water, mudslides, and power disruptions. Over 600 rescues and 572 assisted evacuations have been conducted across ten counties.
The region faces a long recovery period, with some key highways potentially remaining closed for months. State and county resources are being deployed to assist affected residents with immediate needs, pending federal aid. Flood risks are expected to persist until late December.
