An 80-year-old resident of Mugaon village in Bihar's Buxar district died on Monday when a mud wall of his house collapsed on him. The incident occurred amid incessant rainfall that had been weakening structures in the area for several days. The victim, identified as Harendra Singh, was inside his home when the wall suddenly gave way, trapping him under debris.
Despite efforts by family members and local residents to pull him out, Singh had already succumbed to his injuries. Police were informed and visited the scene. The family opted not to pursue a postmortem examination.
In light of the continuing heavy rainfall across the district, the local administration has issued advisories urging residents to avoid staying in weak or dilapidated structures to prevent further tragedies.
