Four American citizens perished in a helicopter crash that occurred in a remote region of northern Kenya. The incident took place in the foothills of Mount Ololokwe, situated in Samburu County.
The aircraft, operated by Lady Lori Kenya, was reportedly on a charter flight when it crashed.
Seven individuals were on board the helicopter at the time of the accident. The U.S. State Department confirmed the fatalities of four Americans and stated that the U.S. Embassy is collaborating with local authorities.
Recovery operations faced significant challenges due to the rugged terrain and a subsequent fire at the crash site. Kenya's Red Cross deployed additional crews to aid in the search and recovery efforts.
Among the deceased was José Suárez, president and general manager of multiple Telemundo-owned stations in Florida. He had a long career spanning over two decades within NBCUniversal.
