A profound tragedy unfolded in Baswani village, Nagaur district, where three young siblings lost their lives after drowning in a water tank. The children's mother, Manju, described the harrowing events that transpired on Friday evening.
She explained that her four-year-old daughter, Gunjan, accidentally slipped into the tank, which contained about five feet of water. In a desperate attempt to rescue her, Manju jumped in. However, she could not swim and soon lost consciousness. Upon regaining consciousness, she discovered that her other two children, five-year-old Anushka and one-year-old Rudra, had also entered the tank and tragically drowned.
Manju was found in critical condition and admitted to the district hospital. Due to her distressed mental state, she was moved to the hospital's prisoner cell. Her husband, Ram Prasad Meghwal, who was away in Kota for work, returned to his native village on Saturday evening. He was initially told his children were ill but tragically discovered upon arrival that all three had passed away. He subsequently performed their last rites.
