A tragic collision involving five heavy vehicles on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway in Haryana's Nuh district resulted in the deaths of two laborers. The incident, which occurred Sunday morning around 8 am, led to a massive fire that engulfed a stone-laden dumper and an Amazon container, destroying goods estimated to be worth Rs 1.25 crore. The dumper driver and his helper were unable to escape the intense flames and died at the scene. Other vehicle occupants were safely rescued by bystanders.
The KMP Expressway experienced severe traffic disruption for approximately four hours following the accident. Congestion extended for nearly six kilometers, impacting National Highway-8. Three fire tenders worked for over three hours to extinguish the blaze. Cranes and earthmovers were utilized to clear the wreckage, eventually restoring traffic flow. Police are investigating the incident and have advised motorists to exercise caution, particularly during winter fog.
