On September 11, 2025, San Antonio will host the first-ever 9/11 memorial stair climb event at the Alamodome stadium. The annual tribute, known as the San Antonio 110 9/11 Memorial Climb, has been relocated from its original venue, the Tower of the Americas, due to ongoing renovations.
The event, which honors the first responders who climbed 110 flights of stairs inside the World Trade Center to save lives on 9/11, will now take place inside the Alamodome. Participants will ascend and descend the stadium's rows of steps until they reach the symbolic 110-floor mark.
In addition to commemorating the heroic actions of New York's first responders, the event also pays tribute to the 70 law enforcement officers and 9 EMS personnel who perished at Ground Zero. The Alamodome has graciously stepped up to host this poignant community event, ensuring the annual memorial continues despite the change in venue.
