North Jersey Holds Solemn 9/11 Remembrance Ceremonies

As the nation approaches the 24th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, communities across North Jersey are preparing to hold solemn remembrance ceremonies to honor the victims and reflect on the lasting impact on the region.
Throughout Bergen, Passaic, Morris, Essex, and Sussex counties, local governments, organizations, and first responders are organizing a series of memorial services, candlelight vigils, and commemorative events on September 11, 2025. The ceremonies will provide an opportunity for residents to gather and remember the lives lost, as well as pay tribute to the heroes who responded on that fateful day.
In Basking Ridge, the Bernards Township 9/11 ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. in Harry Dunham Park, while Bloomingdale and Butler will host a joint candlelight ceremony and walk starting at 7 p.m. Across the region, other towns such as Chatham, Edgewater, Emerson, Fort Lee, Glen Rock, and Hackensack will hold their own memorial events to honor the victims and the impact on their communities.
As North Jersey reflects on the 24th anniversary of 9/11, these solemn gatherings serve as a reminder of the resilience and unity that emerged in the aftermath of the tragedy, and the enduring commitment to never forget those who perished.
