Minco Softball Team in Serious Bus Crash, School Closed

On September 9th, 2025, Minco Public Schools announced it will be closed on Tuesday following a serious school bus crash that occurred the previous evening. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the softball bus carrying 13 people crashed just west of Minco around 8 p.m. on Monday. At least six of those injured were reported to be in critical condition.
Minco Superintendent Kevin Sims took to social media to inform the community about the incident. "This evening, our Minco Public Schools Softball team was in a serious accident west of Minco. Multiple individuals on the bus were severely injured," Sims said. He added that the school will be closed on Tuesday and promised to provide further updates as permitted. Sims also asked the community to keep the student-athletes, coaches, and their families in their prayers.
The bus was the only vehicle involved in the crash, and all lanes of Highway 152 and County Street 2760 were closed as a result. All those injured were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment.
