Summary
- EDM star Kristine W feared for her life during violent turbulence on Delta flight
- Kristine W suffered a suspected concussion after being thrown into overhead compartment
- Lawyers allege Airbus A330-900 model has history of malfunctions

On August 2nd, 2025, EDM star Kristine W was aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam when the plane encountered violent turbulence about an hour into the journey. The incident left Kristine, a 17-time Billboard chart-topper, fearing for her life and resulted in her suffering a suspected concussion.
Kristine, whose real name is Kristine Elizabeth Weitz, was seated in the window seat of the Airbus A330-900 aircraft when the turbulence struck. The seatbelt light was still off, and Kristine was wearing the restraint loosely, which was not enough to prevent her from being thrown into the overhead compartment. The force of the impact broke the plastic above her head, and she also sustained bruises on her hips from the seatbelt.
Kristine's daughter, Elizabeth, who was seated elsewhere on the plane, also suffered whiplash and back pain during the incident. The pair witnessed other passengers sustain more severe injuries, including one man who was fully lifted out of his seat.

The aircraft made an emergency landing at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, where 25 people were taken to local hospitals. Kristine claims she was not seen by emergency services because the responders only attended to those who were "bleeding."
Now, Kristine's legal team is calling for Delta to ground all Airbus A330-900 aircraft, alleging that the model has a history of critical flight system malfunctions, a pattern of emergency landings, and other issues. The National Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation, but the cause of the incident remains unclear.
Kristine, a leukemia survivor, says the experience has left her with lasting physical and mental effects, and she is unsure if she will be able to board planes in the future due to her heightened anxiety.
