Yin Li, the Party secretary of Beijing, has emphasized the urgent need to restore normalcy in the affected regions and effectively address the ongoing flood risks.
Beijing experienced prolonged heavy rainfall between July 23rd and August 1st, leading to sudden mountain torrents in the city's northern districts. In response, local authorities have implemented temporary scheduling measures for bus routes and relocated residents in neighboring Hebei province as a safety precaution.
The heavy rainfall has also prompted the Ministry of Water Resources to activate a Level IV emergency response for flooding in the Gansu, Qinghai, and Ningxia regions, urging local authorities to closely monitor the situation and take necessary measures. Additionally, Guangdong province in southern China has issued a Level IV emergency response in anticipation of heavy rain and potential flooding.
Disaster mitigation and relief efforts, including the relocation of affected individuals, are ongoing to address the challenges posed by the extreme weather conditions and ensure the safety and well-being of the residents in the impacted areas.
