Burst Tire Causes Deadly Bus Crash in Pakistan, Killing 10

On Sunday, a tragic bus accident in Pakistan's Punjab province claimed the lives of at least 10 people and left over two dozen injured. The bus, carrying 40 passengers, was traveling from Islamabad to Lahore along the M-2 motorway when it suddenly veered off the road and fell into a ditch near the town of Balkassar.
According to officials, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle after one of the tires burst, causing the bus to overturn and plunge into the ditch. Eight passengers were killed instantly, while two more died later at the hospital. The bus driver and four children were among the victims.
All the deceased and injured were immediately shifted to a government hospital in Chakwal for treatment. Among the wounded was a Filipino woman named Emy Dela Cruz. Punjab's Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed grief over the accident and directed health authorities to provide the best possible care to the injured.
Road accidents are unfortunately common in Pakistan, often caused by reckless driving and poor road conditions. This latest tragedy serves as a grim reminder of the need for improved safety measures and infrastructure to prevent such devastating incidents in the future.
