In a shocking turn of events, a Texas mother named Ashley Pardo, 33, has been arrested and charged with endangering a child and aiding in the commission of terrorism. The charges stem from Pardo's alleged involvement in arming her 13-year-old son for a foiled plot to unleash mass violence at his San Antonio middle school.
According to court documents, Pardo purchased ammunition, tactical gear, and loaded magazines for her son, who authorities say drew chilling maps of his school marked "suicide route" and idolized white supremacist mass shooters. The teen had previously been found hitting a live bullet with a hammer and researching the 2019 Christchurch mosque massacre.
Investigators also uncovered disturbing evidence, including an improvised explosive device, handwritten notes listing mass shooters and victims, and white supremacist symbols in the family's home. Pardo allegedly sent a photo to the father of an 11-month-old child, showing herself holding a shotgun inches from the baby's head with her finger on the trigger guard.
The chilling saga began months earlier when school officials discovered the teen's violent drawings and plans. Despite the escalating red flags, the district allowed the student to return to campus, leading to his arrest on May 12 when he arrived wearing tactical gear. Pardo was taken into custody the same day.
Now in jail, Pardo has been ordered to have no contact with her children and wear an ankle monitor if released. The judge also banned her from possessing firearms or consuming alcohol. Authorities say she showed no remorse, and the family's behavior, coupled with the disturbing materials found, forced them to act quickly to prevent a potential tragedy.
