In a tragic incident, a 27-year-old man in Lucknow, India, has been accused of murdering his 2.5-year-old stepson. The accused, Jagannath Saini, allegedly killed the child, Aditya, on Sunday evening because he saw him as an "unwanted burden" and wanted to have his own biological child with his second wife, Nandini Devi.
Saini, a resident of Badi Jugauli, had repeatedly pressured Nandini to send Aditya, from her previous marriage, away. When she refused, he took matters into his own hands. During the police interrogation, Saini confessed to the crime, revealing a deep-seated resentment towards the child, whom he viewed as a hurdle to starting a new family.
On Sunday evening, while Nandini was at work, Saini allegedly lost his temper and beat Aditya severely. The child collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The police were informed by the medical staff, and Saini was arrested within 24 hours near Badi Jugauli Tiraha.
