Speeding Thar Kills Motorcyclist, Driver Flees Scene in West Delhi

On the night of August 15, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in West Delhi's Moti Nagar area when a 40-year-old man was killed in a collision between his motorcycle and a speeding Thar SUV. According to the victim's younger brother, the man, Bechu Lal, was on his way to the hospital when the accident took place.
Lal had parked his bike behind a truck near a signal when the Thar came from behind and struck his motorcycle, killing him on the spot. After hitting the bike, the Thar mounted the footpath, collided with an electric pole, and then struck a stone seat along the roadside wall before coming to a stop further ahead.
The driver of the Thar SUV fled the scene immediately following the incident. Local police have registered a case and are currently examining nearby CCTV footage to determine the speed of the vehicle at the time of the crash. Authorities have informed the victim's family and sent the body for post-mortem.

This is the second such incident involving a Thar SUV in the area this month. Earlier, a pedestrian was killed, and another was injured after being run over by a Thar near the Gyarah Murti landmark in Chanakyapuri.
