The bus driver, Suresh Pawar, was operating a BEST bus from Malwani depot to Goregaon East around 8:15 PM when the incident occurred. After the bus stopped at Evershine Nagar bus-stop, a scooterist came up from behind, overtook the bus, and blocked its path. The scooterist then began yelling expletives at Pawar, accusing him of brushing his two-wheeler.
Moments later, the scooterist entered the bus from the front exit and used his helmet to assault Pawar on his shoulder and fingers. Noticing the commotion, the bus conductor stepped forward to intervene, but the scooterist threatened to hit him as well.
Pawar later sought medical treatment at a public hospital and filed a police complaint. The accused scooterist has been identified as 25-year-old Salman Khan, a Malwani resident. The Bangur Nagar Police have registered an FIR against him.
