Nevada Mother Seeks Transparency After Son's Mysterious Pool Death

As of August 21, 2025, a Nevada mother, Christina Todd-Dunn, is seeking answers and transparency from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department after her 20-year-old son, TayShaun Todd, was found dead in a pool last June.

According to the details, on June 17, 2025, TayShaun attended a party at a home in Las Vegas. Police had allegedly shut down the party and searched the premises, but TayShaun's body was not found until the next day, floating in the pool. His mother claims that despite her pleas, police did not search the home thoroughly, leading to the tragic discovery.

TayShaun was described as a good kid who was not much of a partier and knew how to swim. Just three weeks before his death, he had been offered a teaching assistant job at his former school, Pinecrest Academy of Nevada at Cadence. His mother believes that if TayShaun were white, the search for him would have been handled differently.

The case remains under investigation, with the mother filing a complaint with the police department's internal affairs department. She hopes that by speaking out, she can prevent another family from experiencing a similar tragedy.
