Neighbor Arrested for Raping Minor Girl Over 2 Years in Kendrapada

In a disturbing incident, a 26-year-old man from Kendrapada district in India was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl over the past two years. According to the police, the accused, who was the girl's neighbor, had been sexually exploiting her since she was 15 years old, luring her with a false promise of marriage.

The case came to light after the survivor filed an FIR (First Information Report) with the police on Sunday. In her complaint, the girl alleged that the accused had been sexually abusing her for the past two years. The situation reportedly worsened on Saturday when the accused allegedly threatened to leak the girl's private photos and videos on social media after she tried to end the relationship.

Based on the FIR, the police arrested the accused and booked him under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused was produced in court on Monday, and his bail plea was rejected. He has been sent to judicial custody, and further investigation is ongoing.
