Authorities in Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary are investigating the mysterious death of a 49-year-old man found in a house in the Ravenswood area of the town earlier this morning.
According to reports, the man's body was discovered by Gardaí and family members around 12:58 AM on August 4th, 2025. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a local GP. Gardaí immediately cordoned off the area and requested the assistance of the State Pathologist's office and crime scene examiners from the Garda Technical Bureau to assist with the investigation.
Detectives have begun door-to-door inquiries in the 150-house estate, trying to establish when the man was last seen alive and whether anyone heard any disturbance at the property. They are also canvassing the surrounding houses to see if any CCTV footage is available that could help identify anyone who may have entered the home.
The investigation's next steps will be determined by the results of the postmortem examination, which is expected to take place later today at University Hospital Waterford. Gardaí have not yet released the man's identity or any potential cause of death, but they are treating the incident as suspicious and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
