Father Runs Over Daughter and Boyfriend, Killing Him

On August 13, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Madurai, India when a young couple was allegedly run over by the woman's father, resulting in the death of the man.

According to the police, 24-year-old Raghavi was in a live-in relationship with her relative, 21-year-old Sathish Kumar, after her husband's death three years ago. However, Raghavi's family did not approve of this relationship. Last month, the couple had eloped to Trichy, but Raghavi later returned home after her family promised to get them married.

On the night of August 12, 2025, Kumar went to Raghavi's home to pick her up, as she had told him that her family had confined her. The family then accused the couple of stealing gold jewelry, and they all went to the Melur police station for an inquiry. After the police were unable to conclude the investigation, Raghavi and Kumar left for Trichy on his two-wheeler.

Tragically, Raghavi's family members, who had followed the couple, then ran them over with a car on the highway near Melur. Kumar died on the spot, while Raghavi was admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital with injuries. Her condition is currently stable.

The police have arrested Raghavi's father, Alagar, 58, and charged him with planning the murder along with Raghavi's brother, Rahul. The authorities are also searching for several more suspects in this case.
