Bowers had posed as a potential buyer to gain access to a red Citroen car at an address in Bristol. However, instead of completing the transaction, he proceeded to steal the vehicle and led police on a harrowing chase. Bowers reached speeds of up to 90mph and even drove the car the wrong way around two roundabouts, putting countless lives at risk.
PC Paul Davis of Wiltshire Police described Bowers' actions as "incredibly dangerous and reckless," stating that he "put countless lives at risk, including his own." Bowers has since pleaded guilty to charges of dangerous driving, aggravated taking without consent, driving without a license, and driving without insurance.
As a result of his actions, Bowers has received a suspended prison sentence. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the serious consequences that can arise from such reckless and criminal behavior on the roads.
