Cattle Smugglers Arrested in Daring Police Raid

On September 8, 2025, authorities in Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh, conducted a successful joint operation to crack down on a cattle smuggling ring. According to the report, 16 cattle smugglers were arrested and 51 cattle were rescued after an encounter with the suspects.

The operation was carried out by the Bidhuna and Erwa Katra police forces. During the encounter, one of the smugglers, identified as Raghuveer, sustained a bullet injury and was apprehended. His nine accomplices were also arrested.

Interrogation of the suspects revealed that the gang had been capturing stray cattle and selling them to smugglers in Rajasthan. From there, the cattle were then transported to other states for slaughter.
