A damning investigation by the Special Operations Group (SOG) in Rajasthan, India has exposed a widespread scam where dozens of government employees faked disabilities to obtain jobs under the reserved quota. According to the probe, as of 2025-08-06T21:01:19+00:00, a total of 24 public servants, including teachers, assistant professors, and stenographers, were found to have forged medical certificates to claim they were disabled.
The SOG re-examined 29 individuals who were previously selected for government positions under the disability quota over the past five years. The results were shocking - only 5 of them were found to have a disability of 40% or more, which is the minimum requirement to qualify. The remaining 24 were declared medically and physically fit, exposing the scam.
Among the suspects are an assistant professor of geography at a government college in Rajsamand who claimed to be hearing-impaired, and a 30-year-old who faked visual impairment to secure a teaching job in Bikaner. The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities have stated that the doctors who issued the fake disability certificates will also be probed.
