In a shocking case of a deadly grudge turning into a cold-blooded murder, a sessions court in Panchkula, India, has sentenced 65-year-old businessman Sanjeev Kumar Arora to rigorous life imprisonment for the killing of trader Narinder Kumar Mittal in September 2020.
The incident occurred on September 27, 2020, when Mittal, a trader from Sector 26 in Panchkula, was found dead near his mangled scooter on a slip road near the HMT premises in Pinjore. At first, it appeared to be a tragic accident, but the police and Mittal's son, Sachin Jain, suspected foul play.
As the investigation progressed, a broken piece of a number plate found at the scene was traced back to Arora's SUV, cracking open the case. Sachin informed the police that Arora had long harbored a grudge over a residential property dispute with his father, Mittal, and had even threatened him.

Arora was promptly arrested, and during interrogation, he confessed to the crime and led the police to the exact spot where the incident took place. Forensic tests on both vehicles confirmed that the collision was not accidental, but rather a deliberate act.
Despite being released on bail during the trial, Arora's fate was sealed by the scientific evidence and spot analysis presented by the prosecution. The additional district attorney, Akash Tanwar, pushed for an exemplary sentence, and the court agreed, sentencing Arora to rigorous life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000.
