Bones Found in Search for Father Accused of Killing Daughters
29 Aug
Summary
- Bones discovered during search for missing father Travis Decker
- Decker wanted in connection with deaths of his 3 young daughters
- Investigators working to determine if bones are human and belong to Decker

In a grim development, investigators searching for the missing Travis Decker have uncovered bones during their ongoing search. Decker, a 33-year-old father, is wanted in connection with the deaths of his three young daughters earlier this year.
The bones were found by one of the 100 personnel involved in the grid search, according to Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison. At the time, it was unclear whether the bones were from a human or an animal, so they were sent to Central Washington University's anthropology department for further analysis.
The discovery of the bones comes as the search for Decker has spanned a wide array of law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, Homeland Security, and U.S. Marshals. Authorities believe Decker may have fled to Canada based on internet searches he conducted before his disappearance, though there have been at least two reported sightings of men initially thought to be Decker that were later debunked.
If apprehended, Decker will face three counts each of first-degree murder and kidnapping for the deaths of his daughters Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 2. The girls were found dead with plastic bags over their heads, and the medical examiner determined they died of asphyxiation.
The investigation into the bones and the ongoing manhunt for Decker continues, as authorities work to uncover the truth and bring closure to this tragic case.
