The authorities have arrested 27-year-old Amardeep Singh on suspicion of murder, and he is scheduled to stand trial at the Old Bailey on January 5, 2026. Four other individuals, including a 29-year-old man and three women aged 29, 30, and 54, were also arrested but have since been released on bail pending further investigation.
In a statement, Singh's family described him as a "well-loved man" with a remarkable ability to connect with everyone he met. They said that nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by his loved ones. Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, leading the investigation, acknowledged that the tragic event has understandably sent shockwaves through the community and assured that there will be an increased police presence in the area.
An inquest into Gurmuk Singh's death has been opened and adjourned as the investigation continues. The authorities urge anyone with concerns or information to come forward and speak with the officers.
