Abandoned Newborn Rescued from Thorny Bushes in Jaisalmer

In a heartwarming rescue operation, a newborn baby girl was saved from a precarious situation in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, late on the night of July 30, 2025. The incident came to light when passersby heard the infant's cries coming from dense bushes along the Sultana Road. They immediately alerted the local PTM police, who dispatched a team led by Head Constable Padam Singh to the location.

The police team successfully extracted the baby from the thorny bushes and arranged for immediate medical attention. The infant was rushed to Jawahir Hospital, where doctors at the SNCU ward are currently monitoring her condition. According to Dr. Dinesh Jangid, the attending pediatrician, the baby is stable, but they will continue observation until she makes a full recovery.

The child protection department, under the leadership of Superintendent Hemaram Jarmal, has taken custody of the infant and is overseeing the care arrangements. Once the baby is deemed completely healthy, she will be transferred to the Government Child Home for adoption proceedings.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the abandonment, with police reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to identify those responsible for this act. Initial findings suggest the baby was abandoned shortly after birth. Local authorities have assured that they will bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure a secure future for the rescued infant.
