A case was filed at Ibrahimpatnam Police Station based on a complaint from a UK resident. The complainant alleged transferring Rs 15 lakh for visa services and job assistance, which were never provided. The provided Certificate of Sponsorship was also discovered to be fraudulent. The couple, along with Madhukar's father, Mohan Rao, have been booked under charges of cheating and fraud.
