Summary
- McCullagh allegedly killed girlfriend Natalie McNally on December 18, 2022.
- He is accused of staging a pre-recorded livestream for an alibi.
- McCullagh initially blamed the victim's ex-partner for the murder.

Stephen McCullagh, 36, is on trial for the murder of his pregnant girlfriend, Natalie McNally, 32, who was 15 weeks pregnant. The alleged murder occurred at her home in Lurgan, Northern Ireland, on December 18, 2022. Prosecutors contend that McCullagh meticulously planned the attack, hoping to evade justice.
To establish an alibi, McCullagh is accused of pre-recording a six-hour livestream of himself playing Grand Theft Auto for his YouTube channel. This broadcast was presented as live, while he allegedly traveled by bus to McNally's home to commit the crime. Evidence, including CCTV footage of a man resembling McCullagh on a bus to Lurgan, has been presented in court.
Upon the discovery of McNally's body, McCullagh, who was present, reportedly told police that her ex-partner was responsible. However, the prosecution argues this was a fabricated story. McNally suffered multiple stab wounds and compression to her neck. The trial, which began on Monday, is expected to last five weeks with a jury of twelve hearing the evidence.
