A violent incident occurred in Ganraj Colony, Thergaon, on Thursday night where a 19-year-old youth was fatally attacked. This occurred merely five days after he had secured bail in a previous attempted murder case. The youth's cousin sustained injuries during the assault and is currently receiving medical treatment.
The motive behind the fatal attack appears to be a dispute arising from the youth's alleged actions post-release from jail. According to police, he had allegedly been stalking a 19-year-old woman from a different community and pressuring her for marriage. When her mother objected, she reportedly asked her relatives to intervene.
Two relatives of the woman met with the youth and his cousin on Thursday evening, leading to a heated argument. The situation escalated, and the two accused allegedly attacked the pair with a stick, followed by a knife and a billhook. The youth succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while his cousin was seriously injured. The two accused have been arrested by the Kalewadi police.
