15 Oct
Summary
- Drug dealer jailed for three years and six months imprisonment.
- Operated the AX line, ferrying drugs between West and North Yorkshire.
- Police found prepared drug wraps and the dealer phone at his home.
Haqeem Hussain, a 28-year-old from Bradford, has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison for his involvement in the AX line, a county lines drug operation. He was responsible for transporting heroin and crack cocaine between West and North Yorkshire.
During a search of his home, North Yorkshire Police officers found a substantial quantity of pre-packaged drugs intended for street sales, along with the mobile phone used to manage the drug supply line. Analysis of phone data confirmed that Hussain's personal handset served as the AX line phone, linked to multiple journeys arranging drug distribution.
Hussain pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs at York Crown Court. PC Damion Liversidge stated that Hussain believed he could operate undetected, but Operation Sentry remains committed to disrupting county lines. Since its launch in September 2024, Operation Sentry has dismantled 23 county lines.
