George Michael Casson, aged 30, has been incarcerated for 19 months after being found guilty of engaging in sexual communication with a child. He established a deceptive profile on a social application, masquerading as a 16-year-old male named Ty.
Operating from the outskirts of York, Casson utilized this fabricated identity to cultivate a relationship with a 15-year-old victim. The court heard that he subsequently employed threats to compel the girl into transmitting inappropriate photographs of herself.
Casson received his sentence on Tuesday at York Crown Court. In addition to his prison term, he has been officially placed on the Sex Offenders Register, marking the conclusion of this legal process.
