A shocking murder case in Yamunanagar has been cracked by the police, revealing a conspiracy hatched by a young woman and her lover to kill her mother-in-law. The victim, an elderly woman, had died under suspicious circumstances on July 19 in village Hargarh. Initially treated as a suspicious death, a thorough investigation by the CIA-I team later indicated foul play.
A murder case was subsequently registered on January 6 at the Chhappar police station. The investigation led to the arrest of the main accused, Rajesh Kumar, on January 9. During interrogation, Rajesh confessed to the crime, implicating his lover, Shivani, who is from the same village. Shivani was married to Jitender, a resident of the victim's village.
Following Rajesh's confession and identification, Shivani was also apprehended. Both accused were presented before the court and have been remanded to two days of police custody. The authorities plan to conduct a detailed inquiry into all aspects of the crime and recover any weapons used during the murder.
