Kelsie Reed, a 24-year-old resident of Lawrence Weston, Bristol, has pleaded guilty to being in charge of a dog that was dangerously out of control. The charge stems from a fatal incident involving an XL bully named Prince.
Last year, in February, 19-year-old Morgan Dorsett, Ms. Reed's cousin, was attacked by Prince at a flat in Withywood. The dog inflicted fatal bites to Ms. Dorsett's neck. Emergency services responded to the scene in Cobhorn Drive but were unable to save her life.
The dog, Prince, was euthanized following the attack. Ms. Reed appeared in Bristol Crown Court and wept as she entered her guilty plea. Sentencing for the offense is scheduled to take place on July 9. A man previously arrested in connection with the incident will face no further action.
