Woman Dead, Man Arrested in Wythenshawe Murder Probe

A murder investigation has been launched following the tragic death of a woman in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester. Officers were called to an address on Lulworth Gardens in Baguley around 8:30 AM on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026, after receiving reports of a disturbance.
Emergency services found a woman, aged in her 30s, unresponsive at the property. Despite immediate CPR attempts by paramedics and officers, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A 44-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being held in custody for further questioning.
Police have cordoned off the area and forensic tents are visible outside the property. Superintendent Gayle Brister reassured the public that while the investigation is in its early stages, there is believed to be no wider risk. The force is actively pursuing all lines of inquiry and has requested anyone with information to contact them.
