- The attack occurred at the husband's Norfolk home last year.
- She admitted wounding with intent but denies attempted murder.

A 64-year-old woman, Claire Bridger, is on trial for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing her estranged husband, Keith Bridger, twice. The incident occurred at his Norfolk home after he informed her that their two rescue dogs had been euthanized. The court heard that the dogs, described as having behavioral issues, had been staying with Mr. Bridger following the couple's separation.
Mr. Bridger stated he was unable to keep the dogs at his new residence and found no other option than euthanasia. Upon hearing the news, Claire Bridger became hysterical, screaming about the dogs before allegedly attacking her husband with a knife. He was stabbed in the chest and abdomen and suffered life-threatening injuries.
While Claire Bridger denies attempted murder, she has admitted to the offense of wounding with intent. The trial at Norwich Crown Court is ongoing, with neighbors having assisted in disarming the woman and calling emergency services after the attack last year.
