Summary
- Woman reported sexual assault by ex-boyfriend to police.
- Ex-boyfriend allegedly followed victim home and shot her.
- Suspect claimed the shooting was an accidental discharge.

A woman who reported her ex-boyfriend for sexual assault was tragically killed less than 12 hours later. Yuan Yuan Lu had reported Yujun Ren, 32, on Saturday after alleging he attacked her at his south Philadelphia home.
Early Sunday morning, authorities claim Ren followed Lu to her Levittown home. Ring camera footage reportedly shows Ren's car tailing Lu's vehicle. Police state Ren approached Lu as she sat in her car and shot her in the head.
Ren surrendered to police with an attorney present and revealed Lu's location. He told investigators he was angry and that the shooting was accidental, claiming he intended only to scare her by waving his gun.
Charges filed against Ren include murder, possession of an instrument of crime, and stalking. District Attorney Joe Khan acknowledged the event as a "sobering reminder of the lethal nature of domestic violence."
Lu, 28, had moved to the US in 2009 and pursued entrepreneurial endeavors, starting with selling homemade Chinese cuisine. She also worked in various roles, including at a bubble tea shop and a nursing home.
A GoFundMe page has been established for Lu's family, as her father had recently returned to China. Her cousin, Natalie Truong, expressed heartbreak in informing Lu's parents of her death, describing Yuan Yuan as a "bright, kind, and bubbly person."
