Woman Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter, Avoids Murder Charge
26 Aug
Summary
- A woman will not face a murder conviction for her husband's death.
- She pleaded guilty to manslaughter, avoiding a murder trial.
- Her husband's remains were allegedly dismembered and scattered.

A 56-year-old woman, Nirmeen Noufl, will not face a murder charge for the death of her husband, Mamdouh. She appeared in the Supreme Court via video link from a prison room on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, and formally entered a plea. Noufl pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to the alternative charge of manslaughter, dated around May 3, 2023.
Prosecutors have accepted the manslaughter plea, which will be considered in full satisfaction of the indictment. This means Noufl will avoid a murder trial and will instead be sentenced for manslaughter later this year. Her husband, 62, was reported missing in July 2025, having vanished months earlier.
Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty, who led the homicide squad at the time of her arrest, described the case as a 'domestic violence murder.' He stated investigators would allege that Noufl butchered and dismembered her husband's body, placing body parts in plastic bags and disposing of them in rubbish bins across south-west Sydney.
