A woman's life was tragically cut short in Houston on Saturday, March 7, during an alleged carjacking. Marietta Allison was shot and killed while accompanying her best friend, Cassie Daniel, to a chemotherapy appointment.
Allison, who had traveled from Austin, was dropping Daniel off at a friend's house around 10:30 p.m. when she was attacked while searching for parking. Daniel heard a gunshot and later discovered Allison unresponsive on the sidewalk.
Authorities quickly identified the stolen vehicle and pursued the alleged perpetrator, 18-year-old Darius DeWayne Hall. The pursuit ended in a crash, followed by a standoff before Hall was taken into custody.
Hall has been charged with capital murder in connection with Allison's death. Daniel shared poignant memories of Allison's compassion during their last moments together.
