- Woman charged with hitting officer with car during street takeover.

A 25-year-old woman faces multiple charges after two separate alleged assaults. Tanaezah Austin was first arrested on March 1 for felony assault with a deadly weapon against an officer. The incident occurred when officers responded to a street takeover at a west Charlotte Harris Teeter parking lot.
During the event, Austin allegedly attempted to flee the scene. When an officer approached her vehicle, she is accused of accelerating and striking the officer, causing him to be thrown onto the hood. The officer was hospitalized, and Austin was later released on bond.
Less than two months later, on April 2, Austin was arrested for a second time. This arrest stemmed from allegations that she ran over her ex-boyfriend's foot with a car. For this incident, she faces charges including misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence. A bond has not yet been set for these recent charges.
